Mott 32
A fantastic one of a kind Asian cuisine that specializes in duck (Peking Duck & Mott Duck) which needs to be requested 48hrs in advance. I’m not the biggest fan of duck meat mostly because it is a disaster if done incorrectly. However this without a doubt, was the first time I actually thought that the duck was simply delicious and unforgettable. I have so far tried 4 different dishes Beside the ducks at this wonderful restaurant, and all four were amazing and creatively presented.
I will not speak for every dish that they offer as they have a huge selection of gourmet dishes to choose from. Although I’m confident anything on their menu will be up to par with any high end Asian restaurant in the states if not better. I’m going to focus on a couple of must haves at Mott 32.
This wonderful dumpling is perhaps the best of its kind you will ever have. The tase is just as big as the name of this dish. As you take a bite into the Dumpling you will be pleasantly surprised with the burst of flavor which gets you in the mood for more. A must have which I will give 5 out of 5 stars.
Aside from the great cooking the unique ambience inside this establishment makes it an ideal place to take someone you are looking to impress; however make sure you are ready to pay for all that service, ambiance and great food. I would say conservatively for two you are looking at about a starting bill of $250. If however you are a fan of crafted cocktails which I am, then add a few bills to that starting point 😉
What can I possibly say about this yummy handcrafted alcoholic goodness except that it has a perfectly robust taste not too sweet or too sour and it is unlike any cocktail you’ve ever had with a hint of spice to boot. Has a wonderful aroma from the ginseng and blackberry that compliment the gin inside to get your night going.
I would say that their starter menu could be better I tried a few items in there and I’m not sure if it is up to par as the rest of what they offer. For example the “sesame prawn toast” had a strange smell and I am very sensitive to smell so I did not enjoy it at all. However the “stir fried wagyu beef” is the one starter item that stands alone as the king of it all. It is served in a lettuce cup and it will make you a believer. The rest of the items on the starter I won’t talk about since they were simply ordinary and honestly you can get at other restaurants for much cheaper.
Another corky feature inside Mott 32 is the old black and white movies being projected on the break walls which makes for a great conversation starter. If you have never been to Mott 32 and you are a fan of Asian food then you will not be disappointed and will revisit this restaurant next time your in Vegas. They treat you wonderfully and help you choose from their extensive menu.
The dress code is upscale casual I wore nice jeans and nice button up shirt last time I was there however with a suit and tie you will not feel out of place. I have include a link into their website if your interested spend some time and look at the menu. I strongly recommend making reservations but they do have a fantastic bar area if you have to wait with absolute pro barkeeps.
